Vindima_parque_lisboa

In addition to experiences at specific vineyards, the grape harvest in Lisbon extends throughout the district, including public events celebrating the harvest. It’s even possible to take part in a grape harvest in the middle of the city, as Lisbon is the only European capital with a vineyard on its urban perimeter. The Parque Vitícola de Lisboa (PVL) has approximately 2 hectares of vineyards, and was born out of a protocol established between Lisbon City Council and Casa Santos Lima. A new edition is planned for 2025, but the dates have not yet been announced. Stay tuned for news so you don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience the grape harvest without leaving the capital.

Harvest time is also synonymous with traditional festivals that enliven the wine-growing regions. One notable example is the Palmela Harvest Festival, an event that celebrates wine culture with parades, music, gastronomy and, of course, lots of grape stomping. It’s an excellent opportunity to complement your wine tourism experience and immerse yourself in local traditions.

Another notable celebration is the Festival of Our Land, a celebration organized by Quinta de Santana where regional traditions and diverse cultures meet through music, vibrant costumes and contagious smiles. Originally, it was a harvest lunch. The event has grown to become one of the region’s favorites, multiplying in popularity since 2007.
